Good to know
nature preserve, fishing forbidden
Isla de Lobos, Isla de Lobos, Canary Islands, Spain
Isla de Lobos is a little island in front of Fuerteventura. It's a nature preserve that's home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare birds. Access is limited to restricted areas and to a series of walking trails, marked by directional signs to protect the conservation areas.
We stayed here for one night on anchorage. After the charter boats had left we picked a mooring buoy until early the next morning. Around the Boats were so many little fishes, it's an absolutely beautiful place to anchor and to spend the night. It is highly recommended to take out the snorkeling equipment or the SUP to explore the island. After the charter boats have left and all the tourists are back on the main island the place gets very quiet.
The Anchor ground is sand, with some rock formation. The holding was good, but the swell was coming in quite strong. Try to anchor as close as possible to the Beach, but be careful with the shallow spots and the rocks.
