Caribbean – Martinique – Les Trois-Îlets

Trois Ilets lies due south of Port-de-France on the opposite side of the bay. It is a major tourist area and well known as the birthplace of Empress Josephine Bonapart.

Beware of the many shoals in this area.

The small bay off the town provides an anchorage on the western side. The best spot is off the old resort. Take care to not anchor in the path of the local ferries, they don’t slow down and make quite a wake.

The pontoon at the head of the bay no longer exists and just the concrete footings remain.
